Riyadh: Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah participated today in a session on cross-cutting threats and sovereignty as part of the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting with invited partner countries. The session addressed international threats and the coordination of rapid responses to them, as well as maritime and port security, transnational crime, and critical mineral supply chains.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing international cooperation to tackle emerging threats that transcend national borders. The session highlighted the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding maritime and port infrastructure from potential security challenges. It also delved into strategies to combat transnational crime, which poses significant risks to global stability.
The session further emphasized the need for secure and resilient critical mineral supply chains. As these resources are vital for numerous industries worldwide, ensuring their protection and sustainability was a key topic of discussion among the foreign ministers and partner countries.
