Five Indian security personnel killed in Kashmir

Indian security authorities on Friday said that five soldiers have been killed and another injured in a militant attack in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Press Trust of India said the army launched an operation to flush out hiding militants in Kandi forest after receiving specific information about presence of militants. The forces contacted the militants who were hiding in a cave and they attacked the security men using explosive devices. Two personnel were killed on the spot and three out of four others injured succumbed later taking the total toll into five. Internet connection in the district was disabled and more forces were sent to the spot where search operation is going on.

New Delhi accuses Islamabad of supporting and funding the armed groups in Kashmir, claims which Islamabad denies.
