Riyadh: Eastern Province Municipality, through Al-Khobar Municipality, has announced the first phase of the North Al-Khobar development project. This initiative aims to enhance North Al-Khobar's role as a vital commercial hub, highlighting its economic, tourism, and historical significance. The project will upgrade municipal services and improve infrastructure, fostering a vibrant community with more greenery and healthier living spaces.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the first phase covers over 300,000 square meters, located between Prince Turki Street and King Khalid bin Abdulaziz Road, and between 21 Street and Prince Faisal bin Fahd Road. Key components include new pedestrian sidewalks totaling over 40,410 square meters and streets extending 5,490 linear meters. The project also incorporates parking spaces, shade trees, green areas exceeding 5,800 square meters, seating benches, enhanced traffic safety measures, and safe pedestrian pathways, along with asphalt work, lighting, and directional signage.
This development will bolster North Al-Khobar's competitive edge as a central commercial and tourist destination, preserving and promoting its commercial elements while increasing its attractiveness and visitor numbers from both within and outside the region.
