Today, the Fire Station: Artist in Residence opened “The Free Spirits of Wild Horses,” an exhibition by Eduardo Navarro in partnership with the Embassy of Panama. The exhibition will be on view until 17 June 2023 at Gallery 4.

“The Free Spirits of Wild Horses” is a unique exhibition that showcases the rebellious works of Navarro, featuring paintings that show Navarro’s unique approach using mixed media to express his dynamic energy on the canvas.

Commenting on the occasion, Khalifa Ahmad Al Obaidli, Director of Fire Station said: “The exhibition offers a distinct opportunity for the people of Qatar to experience the work of one of Panama’s most celebrated artists. As a venue dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art, Fire Station is honoured to support the art community in Qatar and provide a platform for international artists to showcase their talents.” For his part, HE Ambassador of Panama to Qatar Musa Asvat praised cooperation with Qatar Museums, and said: “His exhibition, The Free Spirit of Wild Horses represents the deep connection between Eduardo and horses throughout his life, but also embodies the same passion he shares with Qatar’s cultural identity. I encourage everyone visit Fire Station and experience Eduardo’s captivating work.” In excitement at showcasing his latest collection at Fire Station: Artist in Residence, Navarro said: “From childhood, horses have held a special place in my heart, and I have always been captivated by their strength, nobility, speed, power, loyalty, perseverance, and endurance. It gives me immense pleasure to present my latest exhibition, “The Free Spirit of Wild Horses,” at Fire Station in Doha, as horses embody a vital synergy that reflects the strong cultural bond between Qatar and Latin America.” Navarro’s pieces are known for their supernatural and ghostly power, and capture the free-roaming wild horses with implied motion and colour unhinged, without limitations or boundaries.
