Dubai: Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan has participated in the World Governments Summit and the Ninth Arab Fiscal Forum, held from February 10 to 13 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Al-Jadaan chaired the third session of the forum, titled "Fiscal Policy and Climate Resilience," with the participation of ministers, government officials, and economic experts from various countries. The session focused on the economic costs of climate change in the region and the associated financial risks and pressures, such as debt sustainability challenges, particularly for heavily indebted countries. The participants also discussed a series of solutions aimed at enhancing climate adaptation capabilities.
Al-Jadaan was also involved in a high-level roundtable discussion at the summit under the theme "Reimagining the Future of Multilateral Cooperation and the Future Fund." This discussion explored innovative approaches to strengthening international collaboration and financial strategies for future challenges.
On the sidelines of the summit, the minister of finance signed a memorandum of understanding on financial cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates with Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, the UAE's Minister of State for Financial Affairs. This agreement aims to bolster financial ties and cooperation between the two nations.
