Riyadh: The final qualifiers for the 26th local competition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for memorizing, reciting, and interpreting the Holy Quran will commence in Riyadh today.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition is organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and takes place under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
This year's qualifiers will feature 125 male and female contestants competing across six branches, with a prize pool totaling SAR7 million. Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and general supervisor of local and international Quranic competitions Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince for their unwavering support of initiatives that promote the Quran.
The competition will continue until just before Ramadan, concluding on the 29th of Shaaban (Friday, February 28). The closing ceremony to honor the male winners will take place on the second day of Ramadan, attended by Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz or a deputy.
The ceremony for the female winners is scheduled for the third day of Ramadan at the Ritz-Carlton Riyadh, in honor of the Spouse of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Princess Fahdah bint Falah Al Hathleen.
