Riyadh: The fifth edition of the Saudi Esports Federation Awards (SEF Awards) concluded on Friday at SEF Arena in Boulevard Riyadh City, with the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of figures from the gaming and esports sector, including supporters, influencers, and professionals.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a total of nineteen awards were distributed across various categories, highlighting different aspects of the industry. The awards aim to stimulate talent and enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's local and global presence in the world of esports. 'The SEF Awards reflect our commitment to recognizing excellence and creativity and supporting ambitious visions that drive the gaming and esports sector toward a brighter future,' Prince Faisal said.
'It stands as a testament to the progress we have achieved as a society and a nation in reshaping the global esports landscape, guided and generously supported by our wise leadership and under the continuous follow-up of the Minister of Sport and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal,' he added.
CEO of the Saudi Esports Federation Turki Alfawzan stated that the ceremony embodies SEF's commitment to nurturing talent, fostering innovation, inspiring future generations, and recognizing the efforts of individuals, teams, and organizations that have made a lasting impact on the gaming and esports community within Saudi Arabia and beyond. He pointed out that the award categories reflect the dedication, skill, and passion that distinguish the sector, as well as the diversity at the heart of the Federation's mission to build a thriving and dynamic ecosystem for gaming and esports.
The ceremony also highlighted some of the most significant achievements of Saudi Arabia in esports this year, including the Falcons team's victory in the 2024 Esports World Cup and the Saudi national team's triumph in the "Rocket League" competition at the FIFAeS World Cup. These accomplishments underscore the exceptional talent of Saudi youth and their ability to compete with elite athletes on the world's grandest esports stages.
