Mina: Among the millions of pilgrims in Mina, 63-year-old Pakistani Habibullah stands out. For him, this year's Hajj is not merely a pilgrimage but the culmination of a lifetime of unwavering patience and profound faith.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Habibullah, who was born sighted but lost his vision at the age of 18, dedicated his life to teaching Islamic jurisprudence in Pakistan. He memorized the entire Holy Quran in Braille. In an emotional recount to the agency, he shared his lifelong dream of performing Hajj, having prayed daily to visit the Grand Mosque. "This Hajj season, my dream came true," he expressed. "It is true that I do not see the Kaaba, but I feel it in my heart, as if it resides within me. Knowledge and education are light; true darkness is the absence of knowledge, not vision."
His story is one of profound inner light and faith. He reflected on his journey from being a blind child to a successful man, attributing his accomplishments to his knowledge, faith, and Allah's guidance. "The blind child I was decades ago has achieved great success today. I am happy and grateful to Allah," he concluded with certainty. Habibullah's journey is a testament to faith and perseverance, culminating in the realization of a four-and-a-half-decade dream of Hajj.
