Plovdiv: This year's European Rowing Championships for men and women, set to take place from May 29 to June 1 in Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria, is drawing significant media interest, according to the event's organizers as reported by the Bulgarian News Agency.

According to Saudi Press Agency, 14 national broadcasters have already submitted requests to air the competition live. These include television networks from Bulgaria, Germany, Ukraine, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, and Switzerland.

The European Rowing Federation will also livestream the final races on Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, via its official website.

Chair of the Championship's Organizing Committee Ivan Popov attributed the strong media interest to expectations of a highly competitive tournament. 'Nearly 900 rowers in 350 boats will compete over the course of four days. Teams from 24 European countries will race on what are considered the fastest waters in the world - the Plovdiv rowing canal. Our sport is strongest in Europe, which is why the level of competition is so intense,' Popov said.
