Riyadh: Director General of the National Research and Development Center for Sustainable Agriculture (Estidamah) Dr. Khalid Al-Rohily has met with Executive Managing Director of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) to discuss enhancing cooperation in agriculture and building capacity in innovation and sustainability.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting focused on potential collaboration in developing research capabilities, advancing agricultural innovation, improving crop management, promoting water sustainability, and increasing the efficiency of irrigation technologies and methods. It aims to boost agricultural productivity and optimize resource management.
The officials also explored opportunities for joint Estidamah-CGIAR research projects and the exchange of expertise to implement innovative agricultural solutions that support improved practices and water resource utilization.
This effort is part of Estidamah's broader strategy to expand international partnerships, develop national expertise, and foster innovation in the agricultural sector, in line with the Kingdom's agricultural development objectives.
