Equestrian Sport Gains Momentum Among Girls in Tabuk Region

Riyadh: The equestrian sport in Tabuk Region is witnessing growing interest among girls of various age groups, amid an increase in the number of stables, the expansion of training programs, and the availability of specialized female trainers, helping strengthen their presence in local competitions and providing opportunities to develop their skills. According to Saudi Press Agency, a tour of horse stables in the region revealed insights from several female riders. Equestrian trainer Sara Al-Mashiti noted that the sport has witnessed notable participation in recent years, given the physical and skill-related benefits it provides, in addition to its role in developing self-confidence and discipline. Rider Dalal Al-Aida shared her personal experience with horses, stating that she began by wanting to try a new hobby before it turned into a passion and a continuous activity. For her, equestrian sport has become an outlet for the pressures of daily work. The riders added that equestrian sport has undergone a not able transformation in recent years, shifting for many girls from a mere hobby into a competitive activity. Family support, the availability of female trainers, and the growing number of stables have contributed to encouraging girls to take up the sport.
