Environment Ministry Delivers 65 Marine Engines to Fishermen in Yanbu

Yanbu: The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's office in Yanbu, in cooperation with Reef National Foundation, delivered 65 marine engines to fishermen in the governorate, along with about 1,234 tools and equipment for boat outfitting. The initiative is part of support programs for small-scale fishermen to enhance the fisheries sector, ensuring the sustainability of marine resources and contributing to the ministry's ambitious strategies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the support programs also included the training and qualification of 580 beneficiaries to raise efficiency in all fishing processes, ensuring the highest quality products reach consumers.

The office had earlier provided about 17 preservation and refrigeration vehicles and 40 fishing boats under the localization of the fishing profession initiative, in cooperation with Yanbu Cooperative Society for Fishermen. The initiative's fishing boats achieved sales exceeding SAR697,000 through more than 2,700 fishing trips, while fishermen in the governorate submitted 2,548 electronic applications under the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program (Saudi Reef).
