Riyadh: Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfadley witnessed the signing of 12 agreements between the National Center for Palms and Dates and several public- and private-sector entities to support the development of palm and date processing industries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister also honored the winners of the fourth edition of the International Award of the National Center for Palms and Dates. This initiative aims to advance modern technologies and practices in the palm and date sector, encourage researchers and innovators to develop scientific and innovative solutions that enhance the sector's productivity and contribution to food security, and reinforce the Kingdom's position as the world's largest exporter of dates. This underscores the sector's significance in supporting the national economy and diversifying income sources in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 targets.

This recognition took place during the opening ceremony of the 6th International Dates Conference and Exhibition, whose activities will continue until December 4 in Riyadh, under the theme "Investment and Innovation to Explore New Horizons for the Palm and Date Sector." The event is held in scientific partnership with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), with the participation of a number of companies and institutions operating in the sector domestically and internationally.

The agreements are part of efforts to enhance public-private partnerships to boost and develop industries derived from palm and date products.
