Dubai: The Charity Committee for Orphans Care (Ensan) has won the Gold Award in the Dubai Quality Group's (DQG) Ideas Arabia International Award under the "Charitable Initiative" category for its "Moeen" volunteer project. Ensan was the only Saudi organization to compete in this prestigious regional award, which has recognized excellence in development, quality, and institutional performance for more than 34 years.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the recognition highlights Ensan's innovative volunteer practices and contributions to the sector. As one of the first organizations to establish a dedicated volunteer unit in 2020 under the Saudi National Volunteering Standard, Ensan launched Moeen to support Saudi Arabia's goal of reaching one million volunteers annually.
Moeen has achieved notable success, earning multiple awards, including the 2022 National Award for Voluntary Work. It has also driven a steady increase in volunteer participation, engaging 11,275 volunteers in 34,000 opportunities since its inception.
Additionally, Moeen has generated significant financial value, with volunteer work estimated at more than SAR 2 million, based on labor market standards. The initiative has also contributed to reducing operational costs through increased volunteer participation, achieving tangible financial goals, and providing leadership opportunities for orphans.
