Riyadh: Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz highlighted the crucial role of change makers as he addressed the fourth annual Saudi Media Forum on Wednesday.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister affirmed that influencers are in need of changemakers, emphasizing that the changes initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have contributed to establishing a real impact for the Kingdom.
"The concept of changemakers in the Kingdom has evolved into a more comprehensive concept," the energy minister remarked during a fireside chat at the forum moderated by Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary. "Changemakers now have leadership that encourages transformation. Those making change are also the ones who leverage it. Therefore, we must continuously remind ourselves that each and every one of us is a change maker," he added.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman emphasized that media content has become accessible to influencers through Vision 2030 initiatives, leading to the sentiment that "the Kingdom welcomes the world." He stated that the Kingdom engages the world in major Saudi programs and events, including hosting Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup, while also opening avenues for participation in various activities, including tourism, economy, media, trade, and investment.
The minister shared his experiences with media appearances during challenging times, including the attack on Aramco facilities, which required him to address the media despite the challenging circumstances, while enduring the psychological and economic impacts. He emphasized his commitment to sharing his experiences with officials and employees at the Ministry of Energy to help them navigate similar challenges.
The minister discussed his recent engagements, highlighting that some events required his presence to enhance their outcomes. He expressed a particular fondness for participating in conferences organized by the Misk Foundation, citing their educational nature and his previous role as a lecturer at the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman discussed his participation in the Future Minerals Forum, noting the evolving concept of energy security, expanding beyond the security of oil and petroleum exports from the Middle East to include natural resources and essential components for renewable energy. He added that participation in such events is vital as the messages they convey have a significant impact.
The minister emphasized the need for a holistic understanding of energy as he spoke about his experience in the oil markets. He said that the concept of energy requires a comprehensive perspective as the energy sector extends beyond a single book or discipline, affirming that a true energy expert shall possess knowledge across diverse disciplines and awareness of its evolving nature.
