Egypt’s government launches ‘Cairo Bike’ project ahead of COP27

The Egyptian government launched the “Cairo Bike” project in Cairo, to include Downtown, Garden City and Zamalek.

The first phase of the project contains 25 stations and hundreds of bikes available for rent in Downtown through a designated application. The hourly price starts from L.E1.

The project aims to encourage citizens to use sustainable transportation, reduce traffic congestion and air pollution. It is one of the government’s sustainable initiatives, coinciding with the Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Conference [COP27] set for November.
