Egyptian President stresses to Chinese FM necessity to restore peace in Middle East

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi received Sunday Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Qan Gang at Al Itihadiyah Presidential Palace, stressing during their meeting Egypt’s fixed stance on recovering peace and stability in countries enduring crises in the region.

The president asserted that those states must be supported to combat terrorism and strengthen their national institutions. The chief of state also presented his vision on regional developments.

As for bilateral relations, Minister Gang affirmed that China would continue to develop and support Egypt’s developmental programs and activities as well as national projects. That is in light of the modern infrastructure Egypt now possesses, and that integrates well with the Belt and Road Initiative.

The minister delivered the greetings of Chinese President Xi Zinping to President Sisi, who in turn asked him to deliver his greetings to his Chinese counterpart, as indicated in the presidency’s press statement.
