Egyptian governorates in a state of preparedness as bad weather forecasted

Egyptian governorates, especially coastal ones, have intensified their state of preparedness as per the directives of the Ministry of Local Development as a wave of bad weather is forecasted.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecasted windy weather on Thursday on areas in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, northern coasts, South Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

The EMA also expects disturbance in navigation in the Mediterranean amid strong wind that is expected to blow at a speed of 40-50 kilometer per hour, causing sea waves to become high at 2-3 meters.

From Wednesday to Monday, the EMA expects mild weather in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and northern coasts and warm weather in South Sinai and northern Upper Egypt.

Also, southern Upper Egypt is expected to see hot weather while all areas nationwide will see cool weather at night time.

Average temperatures based on the EMA expectations:

– Cairo and Lower Egypt – Highs: 23 – Lows: 16

– Northern coasts – Highs: 22 – Lows: 15

– South Sinai – Highs: 27 – Lows: 18

– Northern Upper Egypt – Highs: 24 – Lows: 12

– Southern Upper Egypt – Highs: 28 – Lows: 15
