Egypt has development partnerships with China – Mashat

Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat said Friday that Egypt has close cooperation ties and development partnership with China and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, which has been financing several Egyptian governmental and private sector projects since 2018.

Mashat’s comments came during her participation in a virtual round table meeting organized by London School of Economics and Political Science in cooperation with Firoz Lalji Institute on trade and investment in Africa and relations with China.

The minister stressed the importance of development cooperation in reinforcing trade and investment ties between the African continent and China in various fields in an attempt to make the best use the huge potentials available in the two sides in trade and investment domains to help achieve sustainable development in Africa.

She said the ministry is working for pushing forward economic and development cooperation with bilateral and multilateral development partners.

She said the ministry has a 25-billion-dollar development portfolio that backs national efforts to achieve sustainable development that aligns with Egypt’s 2030 development vision.
