EGYPT, KUWAIT HOLD TALKS ON CEMENTING PARLIAMENTARY ACTION

CAIRO, Speaker of Kuwait’s National Assembly Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim held official talks on Thursday with Egyptian parliament speaker Dr. Ali Abdelal Al-Sayyed Ahmad at the assembly’s headquarters.

Speaker Al-Ghanim said after the meeting that the discussions were candid and very significant and that they would lead to joint steps to serve Arab and Islamic parliamentary action.

They dealt with role of the Kuwaiti and Egyptians legislators in facing challenges at various levels and restoring joint Arab parliamentary action.

He affirmed that Kuwait and Egypt have been bonded with very solid ties, adding that a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation would be sent in to examine the recently-established academy at the Egyptian parliament.

For his part, speaker Al-Sayed lauded Kuwait for playing a balanced role among regional and Arab countries.

A number of members of the Kuwaiti and Egyptian parliaments attended the meeting.
