Riyadh: Minister of Education Yousef Al-Benyan affirmed that the general education system will mark a major step forward in the development and governance of education. This will be achieved by providing the necessary resources to realize its objectives, improving the quality of the educational environment, and regulating the role of the private and non-profit sectors. This will enhance the system's capacity for development, improve the student experience, support teachers, and strengthen family trust while upholding national values. According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister made these remarks during the press conference organized yesterday in Riyadh by the Ministry of Media. The conference reviewed the latest developments and achievements of the education system and its readiness for the 1448-1449 academic year. Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary and several media and education officials attended the conference. The education minister explained that the general education system will support the develo pment and governance of education, provide the resources needed to achieve educational goals, and raise the quality of the educational environment. It will also regulate the role of the private and non-profit sectors in ways that strengthen the capacity to develop education and improve the student experience. Furthermore, it will support teachers, enhance their professional development, and strengthen their position in society. In addition, it will promote tolerance and coexistence, strengthen national identity and pride in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's history and symbols, and foster proficiency in and pride in the Arabic language. The system will also support the quality of early childhood education. He said the system supports the needs of people with disabilities in educational institutions, nurtures gifted students, regulates the role of e-learning, strengthens the role of the family, and sets standards for schools to ensure the quality of the educational environment. It will also regulate the private a nd non-profit sectors' participation in providing educational services, enhance investment attractiveness and partnerships, and integrate roles with other government entities.
