Egypt, Chinese DFSK probe coop. in manufacturing electric vehicles

Public Business Sector Minister Hisham Tawfiq took a tour of factories of Chinese vehicles manufacturer Dongfeng Sokon (DFSK) in the Chinese city of Wuhan where the head of company, his deputy and a host of executives received him.

The tour included DFSK factory of engines where the Egyptian minister inspected all the production lines and labs which are based on cutting-edge technologies, the Ministry of Public Business Sector said in a statement issued on Monday.

The minister also visited the batteries factory where he was briefed on the massive abilities of DFSK batteries that are capable of sustaining different weather circumstances and high temperature up to 55 degrees celsius.

Minister Tawfiq checked on the factories of DFSK vehicles assembly where he got first hand information about the Chinese company’s electric vehicles through examining a number of electric cars that could be assembled in Egypt.

During a meeting with the chairman of the Chinese company and its leadership, the minister and his accompanying delegation discussed potential cooperation with the company to produce electric vehicles in Egypt.

A presentation about the Ministry of Public Business Sector affiliate companies Nasr Automobile company and the Engineering Automotive Company was made during the meeting to shed light on the advantages and competitiveness in the Egyptian market.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the company expressed willingness to establish partnership with Egypt following finalizing all necessary market and technical studies conducted by a high-level Chinese delegation in tandem with the Egyptian side.
