Riyadh: The Eastern Region Municipality, through its digital transformation agency, received the Silver Level award in the Gulf Sustainability Award (GSA) for Best Use of AI. Mayor of Eastern Region Eng. Fahad Al-Jubeir recognized the digital transformation agency team for this achievement, which promotes specialized initiatives and bolsters the region's status in smart city development and sustainability.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this accolade underscores the municipality's digital transformation efforts for 2025, particularly through its GSATS 25 smart monitoring system, which integrates the Internet of Things (IoT), drones, high-definition video surveillance, and geographic information systems, alongside an advanced AI platform based on MLOps best practices.
