Riyadh: Eastern Region Governor Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz launched the e-gate service at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam yesterday.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this new service is a collaborative effort involving the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Passports, the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), and Dammam Airports. It allows travelers to efficiently complete their departure procedures by leveraging modern technologies and artificial intelligence, thus saving time and effort.
This initiative is part of Saudi Vision 2030 and the Saudi Aviation Strategy, which is a segment of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. The aim is to enhance services in the aviation sector, boost efficiency, and improve the passenger experience through the adoption of smart technologies.
The launch event was attended by several key figures, including Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser, General Authority of Civil Aviation President Abdulaziz Al-Duailej, SDAIA Vice President Eng. Sami Muqeem, and Passports Acting Director General Major General Dr. Saleh Al-Murabba.
