Riyadh: The Digital Government Authority (DGA), in collaboration with the World Bank Group, is hosting an international workshop titled 'Empowering Progress: A Transformative Collaboration on Cloud Innovation.' This event, taking place from April 6 to 10 at the World Bank Group headquarters, highlights Saudi Arabia's expanding role in digital transformation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the workshop aims to spotlight the latest global trends in cloud computing and its pivotal role in digital transformation. It will also underline Saudi Arabia's leadership in utilizing digital technologies to boost government efficiency and enhance service delivery.

The event will gather government agencies and international experts to explore strategic topics such as the impact of cloud computing on innovation, improving government integration, and the rapid adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence. Practical use cases and real-world experiences will also be shared.

This initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to cement its status as a leader in digital government and strengthen its international presence by exchanging expertise with global partners. Cloud adoption in government services rose to over 43% in 2025, with targets set at 50% in 2026 and 80% by 2030. Government expenditure on cloud services reached approximately SAR2.8 billion, and the Digital Transformation Measurement Index for government agencies increased to 88.30% in 2025. The Emerging Technologies Adoption Readiness Index also surpassed 74% in the same year.
