Riyadh: The Digital Government Authority (DGA) has unveiled the 'Digital Excellence Program', a strategic initiative designed to boost the digital maturity of government entities and promote global best practices in digital transformation. This initiative supports the broader goals of Saudi Vision 2030 by enhancing government performance efficiency and improving digital services.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program is a key component of the authority's efforts to standardize evaluation methodologies, increase transparency, aid decision-making, and enhance operational efficiency. By focusing on strengthening the digital performance of government bodies, the program aims to elevate Saudi Arabia's standing in international digital government indicators.
The 'Digital Excellence Program' is structured around four central pillars: strategy, technologies, operations, and resources. These pillars include specialized digital dimensions such as national institutional architecture, open-source software, cloud computing, financial systems, and artificial intelligence, which are prioritized areas within the digital government ecosystem.
In addition, the authority plans to conduct a series of introductory workshops for government entities. These workshops will engage representatives from these entities to explore the program's objectives, components, and implementation strategies. The discussions will also cover activation mechanisms and how to integrate these strategies with the entities' existing digital transformation plans. This initiative underscores the authority's commitment to empowering the government sector to achieve digital excellence through a comprehensive program focused on continuous improvement, enhanced service quality, and strengthening of the national digital ecosystem readiness.
