Digital Convenience: Real-Time Occupancy Service Guides Worshippers at Prophet’s Mosque

Medina: The prayer area occupancy service at the Prophet's Mosque provides real-time data to help visitors find available prayer spaces before their arrival.

According to Saudi Press Agency, accessible via a multilingual online platform, the service monitors high-traffic areas, including the eastern, western, and northern expansions, the roof, and the new western courtyards. To simplify crowd management, occupancy is displayed using a four-color coding system: green for available, yellow for semi-occupied, red for fully occupied, and gray for unavailable.

This digital tool facilitates smoother movement within the mosque and its courtyards, particularly during peak periods such as the holy month of Ramadan, by allowing worshippers to choose less-crowded locations in advance.
