Makkah: Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the closing ceremony of the seventh edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival was held yesterday. The event was organized by Saudi Camel Sports at the Taif camel racing field. Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, crowned the winners. The final day featured four races over a distance of 6 kilometers, with 100 elite camels competing fiercely for a total prize pool exceeding SAR50 million.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, extended his sincere appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince for his generous patronage of the event. In a press statement, Prince Abdulaziz noted that HRH the Crown Prince's patronage affirms his continuous support for the sports sector in general and his interest in the traditional sport of camel racing, which represents an authentic heritage and a part of Saudi culture.
Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that the event serves as a great tribute to athletes and fans of the sport. He also expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor of Makkah Region for attending the ceremony and crowning the winners, highlighting the importance of such events in celebrating Saudi Arabia's rich cultural traditions.
