Istanbul: Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation today in the first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
According to Saudi Press Agency, a commemorative photo was taken before the meeting, which was attended by the ministers of defense and foreign affairs, commanders of defense forces, chiefs of general staff, and senior officials from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Trkiye.
During the meeting, discussions centered on ways to strengthen the existing strategic partnership in accordance with the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, aiming to serve common interests and fulfill the aspirations of the leaders of the participating countries. Several topics and issues of mutual interest were reviewed, and multiple decisions and recommendations from the agenda were adopted.
The minister of defense delivered a speech emphasizing the depth of the strategic relations among the three countries. He noted the interconnectedness of their security, stating that addressing challenges and threats requires political coordination, defense integration, and collective military readiness.
