Riyadh:According to Saudi Press Agency, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has appointed Deemah AlYahya to the High-Level Panel on Freedom of Transit for Landlocked Developing Countries. AlYahya will represent the Arab region on the panel, which includes senior representatives and experts from various sectors. Her role highlights her expertise in the digital economy, innovation, and international digital cooperation. The United Nations established this panel to gather expertise from governments, international organizations, the private sector, and academia. AlYahya currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization and has a background in international cooperation and multilateral diplomacy. Her nomination came after a consultative process involving UN Member States. The initiative aims to support the panel's work by bringing together diverse expertise from different fields.
