Riyadh: The King Abdulaziz Public Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) inaugurated the National History Lab today with the participation of 30 Saudi universities and 15 national and international entities, aiming to foster creativity in preserving, documenting, and disseminating national history.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the event, running until Tuesday at the Conference and Exhibition Center at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University in Riyadh, features workshops, exhibitions, and 20 expert speakers on innovation and heritage.

The National History Lab aligns with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by providing a competitive platform that brings together youth and organizations passionate about history. The initiative encourages students to develop ideas, technical projects, and social initiatives that present Saudi Arabia's cultural heritage and national history in engaging and innovative ways to diverse audiences.

The laboratory emphasizes a balance between authenticity and modernity, operating through two main tracks. The digital innovation track focuses on creating technical solutions to document and publish national history using the latest digital technologies. Meanwhile, the social impact track is dedicated to designing interactive initiatives that strengthen the community's connection to national history, targeting audiences of all ages through creative methods.

Thirteen judges have been appointed to evaluate the submitted projects, supported by over 20 facilitators to guide participants through the development of their ideas.
