Riyadh: As part of the Cultural Investment Conference organized by the Ministry of Culture in Riyadh, a symposium titled "Beyond Profit - Unlocking Philanthropy's Role in Cultural Resilience" was held yesterday evening. The panel featured notable speakers, including Founder of Figurative Sir Vernon Ellis, Director of the Morgan Library and Museum Dr. Colin B. Bailey, and President and Founder of Mennour Kamel Mennour.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Sir Vernon Ellis opened the session by noting that young donors are increasingly distancing themselves from traditional cultural institutions. He emphasized the importance of supporting culture as a meaningful legacy that enriches lives and provides sustainable value beyond financial returns. Dr. Bailey stressed that philanthropy should evolve from a reactive approach to a strategic investment that enhances cultural resilience and ensures sustainable growth.
