Moscow: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the issuance of the Guidelines for Transitioning to the Saudi Domain (.sa). They outline technical instructions to help entities operating in the Kingdom to avail of the Saudi domain name benefits, while strengthening their national digital identity and enhancing the reliability of digital services.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the guide targets various entities and institutions operating in the Kingdom, presenting key options and practical steps to enable organizations to switch to the Saudi domain for their digital services, such as official websites, email, and other services, based on best practices and technical recommendations. These include full migration, partial activation, or parallel usage alongside other domains currently in use.
CST emphasized that the initiative comes as part of its role in enabling the Kingdom's communications and technology ecosystem through regulatory and advisory tools. These tools enable national entities to deliver their services within a highly reliable and secure digital environment, while encouraging reliance on digital national resources, particularly the Saudi domain names.
