Riyadh: The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the success of its operational plan for the Umrah season during Ramadan 1446 AH, attributing it to the unlimited support and collaborative efforts between various government and private sectors dedicated to serving worshipers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the performance indicators of communication networks in Makkah and Madinah during the period from 1 to 27 Ramadan revealed that mobile internet speed was 196 Mbps in Makkah, a 10% increase from last year's speed for the same period, while in Madinah, the speed exceeded 272 Mbps, a 26% increase from last year. The daily per capita data consumption was 1,155 MB in Makkah, more than three times the global average, while the per capita consumption in Madinah was 1,481 MB, exceeding four times the global average.
The indicators also showed that the number of calls in Makkah exceeded 355 million local calls and 43 million international voice calls. Meanwhile, local calls in Madinah surpassed 205 million and international voice calls reached 20 million.
