The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) announced the fifth spectrum auction in the frequency bands 600, 700, 3800 MHz for mobile telecommunication networks, which will be held November 10. The auction aims to enhance digital infrastructure, promote investment and competitiveness in mobile telecommunications networks, and deploy innovative and high-quality telecom networks to boost Saudi Arabia's position as an innovation and technology hub. CST announced that the three qualified applicants in the auctions are Saudi Telecom Company (STC), Etihad Etisalat Company (Mobily), and Zain KSA. CST further clarified that the qualified applicants will participate in the auction to acquire a total of 310 MHz in the 600, 700, and 3800 MHz bands with the aim to expand the bandwidth of the spectrum for mobile telecommunications networks, position Saudi Arabia as a leader in the frequencies for commercial use by companies, and improve the quality of services.
