Riyadh: The Center for Research and Intercommunication Knowledge (CRIK) hosted a dialogue seminar featuring Mai Jia, a pioneer of contemporary Chinese literature, along with the Chinese delegation participating in the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025. Mai Jia spoke about his rich experience in literary fiction and how his work has influenced Chinese culture and reached other cultures through translations into multiple languages. He also discussed the role of the novel in the Arab world, highlighting its inspiring stories drawn from diverse places, histories, and cultures.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the writer also addressed several of his novels, exploring how they can be read today and engaged with within a network of cultural and economic relations that reshape the meaning of literature. Mai Jia noted that his visit to Saudi Arabia marks his first and expressed his delight at participating in the fair.
