Mecca: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha has visited technology volunteers serving during the 1446 AH Hajj season, where he reviewed the sector's contributions led by the Awon Tech Charitable Society in collaboration with the ministry.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during his tour of the holy sites, Alswaha was briefed on several field initiatives spearheaded by the technology sector. These initiatives involve over 200 male and female volunteers who are providing technical support, developing digital solutions, and promoting technology awareness in coordination with various government entities.
He was also updated on Awon Tech's initiatives, which has established it as a standout nonprofit in the tech space this year. Through its efforts to train volunteers in advanced digital fields and collaborate with government bodies, the society is playing a key role in enhancing digital services for pilgrims and supporting the technological infrastructure at the holy sites.
Alswaha praised Awon Tech's approach to leveraging technology in service of pilgrims, highlighting its role in improving operational efficiency during Hajj. He emphasized that such initiatives are vital to enriching the pilgrim experience and reflect the Kingdom's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality services that ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of pilgrims.
