Aseer: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Alswaha affirmed that the Aseer Region has evolved beyond being merely a tourist destination; it has become a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. He highlighted the significant increase in the number of innovators in the region, noting that over 50% of researchers in health and innovation are concentrated there.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during a panel discussion at the second Aseer Investment Forum, Alswaha affirmed that investors seek three key pillars: advanced infrastructure, qualified talent, and a supportive legislative environment. This is currently realized in Aseer due to the support and empowerment of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the follow-up of the Governor of Aseer Region.
He disclosed that the telecommunications and technology sector in the region has garnered a total of SAR300 million over the past three years from the government for peripheral area projects, as well as SAR700 million from the private sector.
Alswaha concluded his speech by emphasizing that Aseer not only shapes the present but also lays the foundation for a thriving future grounded in partnership, empowerment, and strong roots that enhance both individuals and the economy.
