Riyadh: The Ministry of Commerce has outlined the steps and requirements for electronically reserving a trade name for a commercial establishment through the Saudi Business Center platform. To apply for the service, applicants must be at least 18 years old and either the intended beneficiary of the trade name or an authorized representative.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the trade name must consist of Arabic or Arabized words, letters, numerals, or any combination of these. If the name is in English, it must also include words, letters, numerals, or a combination. The ministry emphasized that the trade name must not violate public order or morals, cause confusion, or be prohibited from use. It must not resemble any commercial name already registered or reserved in the commercial register, regardless of the type of activity. Additionally, it must not be similar to any well-known international name or trademark in the Kingdom.
The ministry highlighted the importance of adhering to all relevant commercial regulations.
