Riyadh: The General Directorate of Civil Defense: The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a call for heightened caution regarding swimming pool accidents at both homes and public venues frequented by citizens and residents. The organization emphasized the importance of keeping children and non-swimmers away from pools, following established safety guidelines, and adhering to official instructions disseminated through various media and social platforms to ensure public safety. According to Saudi Press Agency, the directorate underlined the necessity of equipping swimming areas with safety measures, including life rings and non-slip surfaces around pool edges. It warned against the dangers of leaving children unattended in pools and recommended installing fences to prevent unauthorized access. Additionally, it advised the strategic placement of ladders in pool corners to facilitate easier entry and exit and proposed the use of alarm systems to detect any objects that might fall into the water.
