Riyadh:The General Directorate of Civil Defense has issued a warning to the public to remain vigilant as thunderstorms are forecasted to persist across most regions until Friday.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the directorate stressed the need for individuals to stay in safe areas and avoid locations where floodwaters might accumulate, such as valleys, and advised against swimming in these areas. It also urged the public to adhere to instructions disseminated through various media outlets and social media platforms.
The National Center for Meteorology has indicated that the Makkah Region is likely to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, with the possibility of flash floods and hail, along with active downdrafts causing dust and sand disturbances.
Similar weather conditions, including moderate to heavy rainfall, are expected in the regions of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and Madinah, which could lead to flash floods and hail, accompanied by active downdrafts stirring up dust and sand. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is expected in the regions of Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf, and the Northern Borders.
