Riyadh: The General Directorate of Civil Defense, in collaboration with relevant authorities, has intensified its efforts to enhance public awareness regarding flood risks. This initiative is part of an ongoing awareness program aimed at promoting proactive safety practices and bolstering community preparedness for climate fluctuations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the directorate has emphasized the importance of caution during rainfall to mitigate hazards such as flash floods and water accumulation. The public is advised to avoid crossing or approaching flood-prone areas and to refrain from swimming in them. Ensuring the safety of children by keeping them away from flooded zones is also stressed.
The directorate has also urged citizens to stay informed by following announcements issued through official channels. For immediate assistance during emergencies, residents in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions are encouraged to contact 911, while those in the rest of the Kingdom should reach out to 998.
