Chinese Language Education Builds Multilingual Generation Prepared for Future

Riyadh: As part of Saudi Vision 2030's focus on enhancing cultural exchange, Chinese language education has been introduced in several public schools, including Intermediate School 202 and Al-Murooj Intermediate School for Boys. The initiative marks a step toward equipping students with multilingual skills and preparing them to meet future global demands.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Intermediate School 202 for Girls principal Mufidah Al-Shehri stated that Chinese is currently being taught to first-year intermediate students, with 62 students enrolled under the instruction of Chinese teacher Sun Yuting. She emphasized that the initiative reflects the Kingdom's commitment to building a sustainable foundation for Chinese language learning through educational agreements with China to bring in qualified instructors and promote educational exchange. Saudi teachers are also being trained to teach Chinese, ensuring local capacity building.

Al-Shehri mentioned that the school allocated regular class hours for Chinese, provided an engaging learning environment, and organized supportive activities such as cultural workshops and language competitions to increase student interest and boost their proficiency.

Similarly, Al-Murooj Intermediate School for Boys principal Mohammed Al-Yahya reported that 110 students at his school are learning Chinese under the guidance of teacher Zhou Youwei. Al-Yahya highlighted the success of the program, noting its clear impact on student performance and academic excellence.

The initiative underscores Saudi Arabia's broader educational vision of preparing a globally competitive generation through language diversity and cultural awareness.
