Riyadh: Mexican boxing star Canelo lvarez was crowned the undisputed super middleweight world champion after defeating Cuba's William Scull in a title bout held under the umbrella of Riyadh Season at ANB Arena. The event was attended by Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, who is also Chairman of the Saudi Boxing Federation Advisor Turki Alalshikh.

According to Saudi Press Agency, lvarez unified the titles of all four major boxing organizations-the WBO, IBF, WBA, and WBC-along with The Ring magazine belt, cementing his dominance in the super middleweight division.

Following the fight, an electrifying face-off took place in the ring between lvarez and American boxing icon Terence Crawford, setting the stage for a blockbuster showdown scheduled for September 12 in Las Vegas, dubbed the "Fight of the Century."

The event featured a full card of thrilling bouts. Saudi boxer Mohammed Alakel triumphed over Mexico's Alexander Morales in the super featherweight division. In light heavyweight action, Cuba's Brayan Leon outpointed Mexican Aaron Rocha after six intense rounds.

Mexico's Marco Verde claimed a decisive first-round knockout against Michel Polina in the middleweight division. In the heavyweight category, Britain's Richard Riakporhe defeated Argentina's Kevin Nicolas Espindola after the latter retired in the fourth round. Meanwhile, Congo's Martin Bakole and Nigeria's Efe Ajagba battled to a draw, setting the stage for a potential rematch.

Mexican Jaime Munguia solidified his standing with a win over Argentina's Bruno Surace in a highly anticipated rematch. Sweden's Badou Jack was crowned WBC cruiserweight champion after defeating Armenia's Noel Mikaelyan in a 12-round contest.

This landmark event marked the first time such a comprehensive boxing championship has been held outside the United States and Mexico, underscoring Saudi Arabia's growing stature as a global hub for major international sporting events.
