All EGX indexes up, benchmark rises 2.5 pct

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes posted collective gains at the close of Wednesday’s trading, backed by Egyptian institutions and investment funds.

The market capital gained about EGP 14 billion, registering EGP 760.1 billion, after transactions totaled EGP 4.1 billion.

The EGX 30 benchmark index rose 2.54 percent, closing at 14,540.56 points.

The broader EGX 70 index of the leading small and mid-cap enterprises (SMEs) increased 1.72 percent, recording 539.96 points.

Also, the all-embracing EGX 100 index was up 1.96 percent, hitting 1,431.74 points.
