Brussels hosts EU-Kuwait talks

Visiting Kuwaiti Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Sadeq Marafi held meetings with officials of European Union (EU) institutions, including the European External Action Service and the European Council, in Brussels on Tuesday evening.

A press release from the Kuwait Embassy said that the two sides discussed areas of bilateral cooperation and a number of regional and international issues of common interest.

This visit to the Belgian capital, Brussels, is the third stop in the tour of Ambassador Sadeq Marafi to Europe.

Ambassador Marafi met with the Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department in the External Action Service, Ambassador Helen Le Gall, and the Special Adviser for Foreign Policy to the President of the European Council, Simone Mordue.

During these meetings, preparations for the visits of officials between the two sides were discussed, in addition to the preparations for the fourth round of meetings of senior officials, in the presence of Kuwait?’s Ambassador to Belgium and head of its missions to the EU and NATO Nawaf Al-Enezi.

For his part, Ambassador Nawaf Al-Enezi affirmed, in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), that the visit produced positive results that serve to strengthen the strategic partnership between the State of Kuwait and the European Union.
