Riyadh: Brazil has announced that Rio de Janeiro will host the upcoming BRICS summit in July.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira stated that crucial decisions would be made to promote development, enhance cooperation, and improve the lives of citizens in these countries.
The BRICS Group was established in 2009 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, with South Africa joining in 2010. The group expanded in 2024 to include Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Ethiopia. Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Malaysia have also formally submitted membership applications.
