Riyadh: Bahraini Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa recently visited the Saudi Road Research and Accelerated Pavement Test Centre (SRRAPTC), where he was received by Roads General Authority (RGA) acting Chief Executive Eng. Badr Aldulami.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Bahraini minister was briefed on the center's activities, including its survey and evaluation equipment. The visit also highlighted RGA's preparations for the upcoming Hajj season 1446 AH. Dr. Shaikh Abdullah observed the latest global technologies at the center, such as the Heavy Vehicle Simulator (HVS). This equipment is instrumental in assessing the performance of pavement layers within asphalt sections under conditions that accurately simulate the real-world loads and climate experienced by Saudi Arabia's road network. This ensures the quality design and evaluation of pavement materials and layers while managing maintenance costs and methods efficiently.
