Bahraini King Receives Prince Faisal bin Salman for Strengthening Historical Ties

Manama: King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Tuesday received in Manama Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, along with his accompanying delegation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, at the outset of the meeting, Prince Faisal conveyed to King Hamad bin Isa the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with their best wishes for continued progress and prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people.

King Hamad bin Isa expressed appreciation for these fraternal sentiments, praising the deep-rooted historical relations and strong bonds uniting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain and their brotherly peoples.

During the meeting, Prince Faisal reviewed Darah's experience in preserving and safeguarding historical documents and highlighting their scientific and cultural value. He outlined efforts made to leverage digital solutions and generative artificial intelligence to implement international best practices in historical archiving, making them accessible to researchers and scholars as part of the national memory that deserves care and preservation.

Prince Faisal also highlighted avenues of cooperation and strengthening joint work between Darah and its counterparts in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Additionally, he noted the importance of encouraging specialized and in-depth studies on the historical ties between the two countries and the factors that shaped their development, in addition to exchanging expertise in historical documentation and the preservation of national records, and supporting researchers with access to primary historical sources, including photographs, documents, and manuscripts.
