Manama: Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa met with Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel during a meeting with heads of delegations participating in the 12th meeting of the Committee of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Health Ministers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, AlJalajel conveyed the greetings of the Saudi leadership and its wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Bahrain and its brotherly people. The meeting served as a platform to reaffirm the deep-rooted fraternal ties among GCC countries, emphasizing the importance of strengthening joint Gulf cooperation, particularly in the health sector. The aim is to develop health systems and improve their preparedness and efficiency.
AlJalajel also participated in the 12th meeting of the Committee of GCC Health Ministers and the 89th meeting of the GCC Council of Health Ministers, both held in Bahrain. These meetings addressed shared health priorities and explored ways to enhance coordination and integration among GCC countries.
Discussions during the meetings covered several priority issues, including promoting innovation and digital transformation in the health sector. They also focused on strengthening health preparedness and following up on the implementation of the Committee of GCC Health Ministers' Unified Action Plan for 2026-2030. Additionally, they explored ways to develop cooperation and exchange expertise to improve the efficiency and sustainability of health systems across GCC countries.
AlJalajel held several meetings with participating ministers to discuss opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest in the health sector. He extended an invitation to the GCC health ministers to Saudi Arabia in 2027, when the Kingdom will host the 47th session of the GCC Supreme Council.
